Red Velvet Hot Chocolate
2 c. whole milk
1 c. heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp. brown sugar, tightly packed
1 1/2 c. white chocolate morsels
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
Red food coloring gel
In a medium saucepan or pot, slowly bring whole milk, heavy whipping cream, and brown sugar to a light boil. Frequently stir. Add white chocolate morsel to the mixture and melt until mixture is silky.
Once the morsels are melted, add cocoa powder. Continue to whisk until powder is fully dissolved. Add a few drops of food coloring gel and stir. Continue to add a few drops at a time until you reach the desired redness.
Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, and caramel sauce. Serve and enjoy!
- Slowly bring the mixture to a boil. Bringing it to a boil too quickly can burn the ingredients.
- Gel food coloring is recommended however, regular food coloring is feasible.
